Music Technology and Performance Week
August 9th - 14th, 2009
The Summer Schools programme for 2008 is now complete and we are currently planning for 2009. Dates for 2009 are confirmed and we are working with our tutors to confirm programme details for 2009. The format of each week is likely to be similar in 2009 to the weeks just completed. Although the information below relates mainly to 2008, please treat it as an indicative programme for next year.
Our principal tutors for this week are John Weatherby, Kris Koren and Eddie Walker.
They will be joined by a number of people for workshops and presentations.
During the week there will be an opportunity to work in a 'live situation' on some aspect of music technology.

The programme of Music Technology & Performance Week is probably the least defined of our summer school weeks. The reason for this is a positive one, the week will be structured to best meet the needs of the people who sign up for the course.
What is on offer is essentially privileged access to a group of tutors who between them have years of practical experience of all aspects of the music business. We have performers who have been working professionally as musicians for over thirty years, ran independent record labels, recorded their own albums, been in the producers seat for countless recordings, been musical directors, sound engineers, tour managers – and more.
During the course of the week we expect to make some recordings, to be able to provide experience in live performance and studio settings, advise you on stage performance issues, offer advice on management, promotion and other aspects of the music business.
The first stage in signing up for this week is to contact us and tell us a little about yourself and what areas of Music Technology and Performance particularly interest you. If you are not sure where your career path may lie, this week could still be for you – come and see what is involved on and off-stage.
Throughout the six weeks of Living Tradition Summer Schools, we will be dealing with various aspects of Music Technology and Performance and will be able to offer opportunities for a limited number of people to work alongside some of our technical team at various times over the six weeks. If this ‘summer apprenticeship’ opportunity appeals to you, please contact us for further details.
Registration is on Sunday afternoon. In the evening there will be a 'Welcome Session' and a chance to get to know your tutors and familiarise yourself with the venue and facilities.
Classes start at 9.15 on Monday morning and finish on Friday just before lunch. We anticipate some evening and off-site ativities
