Summer Schools @ Glaisnock will offer a quality learning experience and bring international masters of the folk arts to Ayrshire. The ‘arts workshops’ will be strongly based on the traditional arts – music, song, dance and storytelling – but will also include other art and craft activities, tutors and students from relevant local projects. Summer Schools @ Glaisnock will be based at Glaisnock House, Cumnock, and will use ideas, partnerships and experience gained over five years of developing the Common Ground Scotland summer school, which has been held annually in Ayrshire since 2002. Summer Schools @ Glaisnock will be a modern style of event that uses the highest quality of traditional arts teaching combined with public performance to provide opportunities for participation and learning at all levels. |
